PIPPA AND KATRINA WIN TOP CUB SCOUT AWARD
Katrina Thomas and Pippa Thomson have just won the highest award its possible to earn as Cub Scouts: The CHIEF SCOUTS SILVER AWARD
They were both Cubs at 2nd Braunston Scout Group and have now moved up to scouts. They are pictured below in their new Scout Uniforms receiving their awards.
This is what their Cub Leader David Coleman had to say about them:
“Earning the Silver Award is a tremendous acheivement for which they can be immensely proud as I am of them.”
Katrina and Pippa were both role models for Cubs – not just coming to pack nights but all the other exciting stuff we do like camping, Hiking, Cinema trips, bowling nights sports contests, Craft and art, parties, community projects and they even help to re-paint our Meeting place. They were up for everything and become leaders in Cubs as ‘Sixers and Seconders’ – I will miss them both but really pleased they continue Scouting as Scouts.
To gain the Silver award they had to gain 7 challenge badges which covers doing *adventurous* stuff like High ropes or climbing, *Outdoor* which is all-about camping skills, learning lots of new Skills, *The world *Challenge celebrates our world and organisations, faiths and people
in it, *Team work* being a good team member and *Team leader being able to lead a team *and
final challenge was 2 *personal *challenges one they set for themselves and one by me.
In addition they had to win a min of 7 other badges from the over 50 other badges we do that are as diverse as Art and Drama, Digital Skills, Scientist, Navigator, DIY, Cook, martial art, Sports enthusiast so there is something for everyone.
