Scouts Trained By Paramedic And View Ambulance

Date: 4th Mar 2020 Author: Scout Websites

The paramedic evening was an exciting opportunity for the scouts to meet and learn more about one of the emergency services serving their community. They got the chance to understand the daily routine of a paramedic and emergency incidents they see daily. They even got the opportunity to see around one of Northamptonshire’s ambulance.

This evening gave them critical knowledge on basic first aid that could help save lives. The evening covered CPR, choking and how to make a 999 call. This activity was supported by a 999 call operator who could simulate the experience so that when under pressure the scouts will know how to respond best to assist the emergency services.

We are looking forward to carrying on this first aid training in the new year, with the support of the emergency services this will allow group to teach first aid to scout’s highest level of learning. Which would not be possible without the support from David a Northamptonshire paramedic and scout parent.

We look forward to learning more and hopefully will all gain key skills that we could use in the future to help someone in need.
